Hey there. My name is Jen. I’ve been living with mental illness to some capacity for 25 years, and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. At first I was scared. Thought I would lose everything I held dear. But, I realized I had an important story to tell you.
My journey with mental health issues has taught me so much. I have learned strength, hope, and resilience, and that is a message I want to share with you.
A little bit about me
When I’m not blogging, I’m married to my love of more than 14 years. We have two amazing kiddos (see pics above. My husband is to the right of David Tennant.) We are big TV nuts, and are always looking to recommend shows to people. I swear, we are the reason the phrase “binge watching” was created. I am also a big bookworm! (My Goodreads goal for 2020 is 36 books.)
How I hope to help you
I am here to help you, because I’ve been there. I have been in darker places than I would ever wish on my worst enemy. So tell me:
What are you struggling with? What issues do you face?
I write about mental health so that you can find inspiration and peace in your own journey. The purpose of this blog is to be a voice for those living with mental illness.
This site has been a labor of love for me, and I hope you love it as much as I do. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or issues. I’m an open book!
“Jen is an amazing blogger who not only provides an accurate portal of mental health but has also branched out into true crime and interviews with other writers. It’s wonderful to see a blogger who isn’t confined by one niche, and who isn’t afraid to try new things. Jen puts a lot of hard work and time into her blog. You can immediately tell the love she has for writing just by popping onto her website or socials! She’s a pleasure to work with. If you’re a blogger who wants to work with other bloggers, then look no further.” —Chloe (Nyxie’s Nook)
I am slowly (but surely) working on my e-book about anxiety, based on a popular blog post I wrote. My goal is to have it available for purchase by the end of 2020. Stay tuned for more updates!
I also just updated my Mental Health & Wellness resource pack. It’s only $5 and easy to download.
Now that you know more about me and Diffusing the Tension, tell me all about YOU. Send me a message using my Contact page telling me a little bit about yourself. I would love to connect.
