51 positive quotes of encouragement to help you conquer 2020

Are you looking for some positive quotes of encouragement and hope?

You are not alone. Even if you feel like you are, I promise it’s not true. But I understand the feeling. It’s been a really challenging year, and it’s easy to feel super isolated by your emotions.

When you’re going through a hard time, it’s natural to feel alone. Why? Because if you consciously recognize that there are millions in the same boat, it almost makes it feel more hopeless. So we remain alone. Blissfully ignorant.

But at the end of the day, it’s important to find community when we’re struggling. Even if it makes us realize how truly chaotic the world is. Surrounding ourselves with people who understand is one of the most important steps in recovery.

So, if you’re reading this: I get it. You aren’t alone. Hopefully these positive quotes of encouragement inspire you in your journey to wellness.

In this post, I’m going to share 51 positive quotes of encouragement that I think will help you find hope in a year that had left many people looking for answers. Keep reading to find out what they are!

Positive quotes about change

In any post about positive quotes for encouragement, it’s important to leave you with inspiration to change.

When I talk about change, I want to be clear: You should not feel the need to change because your mental illness is something to be ashamed of. Because it’s definitely not. It’s as common as many physical ailments that people feel no shame for.

But it’s important to try to change a lot of the habits we create when we’re unstable. Toxic friendships, sedentary lifestyles, negative thought patterns, etc. These are things we do need to change to live our best lives possible.

Positive quotes for today

Change needs to start today. I told my kids something the other day, that I hope resonated with them and sticks with them as they grow into adulthood. There is no such thing as tomorrow.

I’ll do it tomorrow.

I’ll start healing tomorrow.

There is a life about to start when tomorrow comes. (Okay, I really love Les Mis.)

But really, tomorrow doesn’t actually exist. It’s an imaginary construct, designed to trap you in analysis paralysis. When tomorrow arrives, it’s actually today!

So, act today. Take a small step toward change, and see how much better you feel.

4- “The beginning is always today.” –Mary Shelley

5- “Your hand can seize today, but not tomorrow; and thoughts of your tomorrow are nothing but desire. Don’t waste this breath, if your heart isn’t crazy, since “the rest of your life” won’t last forever.” –Omar Khayyam

Let these positive quotes motivate you

I hope these positive quotes of encouragement inspire you to make the most of the time that you have. Life really can be amazing. It’s not going to be easy. Sometimes, it feels like you’re cursed. I know that feeling from experience.

It’s not important to be more positive to deny the things going on in your life. Being in a state of denial doesn’t benefit anyone. It matters because there is so much joy to be found, sometimes in the most unlikely places. And it would really be a shame if you miss out on it.
